About Me

I have nearly 20 years experience as an artist.  My career encompassed many facets of the art and design field, including traditional graphic design, CG graphic design, illustration, 2D animation and 3D art and animation.  After my children were born, I left my career to raise my children.  I also began my scrapbooking hobby.  Today, I place my design focus entirely on scrapbook techniques and design.  As I scrapbook, I employ skills and techniques learned during my career.  I love to try new techniques.  I am new to the world of submitting to scrapbook publications, but I am not new to the world of paper art.

Objective

  • To create traditional, digital, hybrid or altered artwork as a Design Team member for both traditional and digital product manufacturers.
  • To design digital paper and elements and promote the use of traditional, digital and hybrid methods for preserving cherished memories.
  • To teach advanced scrapbooking techniques for memory preservation.

Styles & Techniques

I consider myself an eclectic artist.  I utilize many techniques and love to try new ideas.  My “style” seems to change over time.  I am detail oriented.  I like clean lines but I’m not rigid in my design.  Quite often, you will find an element or two that has been purposely offset at an angle to help break up the design.  As I create my pages, I rely on my “sense” of design more often than “learned” design skills.  I tend to think of my pages as “perfectly imperfect”.  I fit my design to the product/paper I am using.  For example, if a product has clean lines, I will typically stay true to the product.  If the product has an "weathered" look to it, my finished design will also have an aged and weathered look.
