A Little About Me
I just started seriously scrapbooking in May of 2004, but have been creative my entire life. Whether it be drawing or painting, I was always creative growing up and really got into the fine arts in high school and college. I received a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, with a concentration in Graphic Design. I've been working in the graphic design field since graduation in 1998. (Full-time until October 2003 when my son was born. I currently work part-time.)
I feel that my graphic design and fine arts background have greatly influenced my scrapbook art. I love to experiment with different products and techniques which is reflected in my work. I also have an extensive history in photography having taken many courses in black and white photography in college, and I also have my own dark room at my home. I print my own black and white prints and also sepia tone and handtint on occasion. I had my own handtinted photography business during 2002 doing commissioned pieces for clients.
Since my immersion in the scrapbook arts, I have been fortunate to receive many requests for my work to be published in various scrapbooking magazines and have also designed for various manufacturers. (see information below). My life has changed so much because of this wonderful hobby that suits me so well: a perfect combination of fine art, graphic design, photography and typography. I am so inspired by all of the immensely talented scrapbook artists out there and I look forward to continuing the creations of my scrapbook pages in the hope that I can preserve my own family memories and possibly touch others with my artwork.
